President’s Message

Liz Cline CCRW PresidentLiz Cline CCRW PresidentGreeting from the Clark County Republican Women, Washington State’s largest Republican Women’s (and men!) Club.

Established in 1988, CCRW has a significant historic presence in Clark County. We are chartered under the National Federation of Republican Women which was founded in 1938. The NFRW is one of the largest grassroots political organizations in the country with thousands of active members in local clubs, like CCRW, across the Country.

We empower women and men from all backgrounds in the political process and provide a forum to serve as leaders in the political, government, and civic arenas and learn about volunteer opportunities.

We think you will find our dinner meetings insightful and impactful. CCRW seeks to inform the public through political and legislative education, training, and activity. We are serious business and serious fun!

As President of the Clark County Republican Women, I’d like to personally invite you to join us at our next dinner event. Visit the Calendar on this website for full details. We hope you will JOIN us for the adventures ahead.

Warmest regards.

Miscellaneous Information

Miscellaneous Information

Liz Cline president 2023Hello, my name is Liz Cline. I am a native Washingtonian who was raised in the Puget Sound area (Seattle, Kent, and Tacoma). As the eldest of five children, I have one living parent and am grateful for my close-knit family. My three children were born and raised in Seattle and Edmonds, and they're all wonderful, responsible, and funny adults with kids of their own, ranging in age from 10 to 27. Being a mom and a gramma to my “middles and littles” is something that makes me very proud.

I take after both my parents in positive ways, and I strive to embody the best qualities they possess. My mother was a devoted volunteer at church, an art patron, and a member of Rotary. She was also an excellent hostess, seamstress, and crafter and possessed a loving and inclusive heart toward those she met. She had a gift for filtering BS, possessed tremendous tact, and put people at ease. Sadly, we lost her in October of 2019. My father worked as an insurance professional for most of his career, managing the New York Life Insurance Co. Tacoma General Office until he retired at 55. Like my mother, he was also a member of Rotary and held positions as a Precinct Committee Officer, Gig Harbor airport commissioner, and served on the City of Kent Planning Commission. He also enjoyed golfing. Both of my parents cherished their family. I inherited my conservative Republican inclination from my father.

From 2007 to 2017, I traveled frequently from Seattle to Clark County for work as an insurance carrier sales executive. During one of those trips in 2007, I met John Ley. We just clicked, and the rest is history. Naturally, I made it a point to spend as much time in Clark County as possible. Over that period, I fell in love with Clark County, and my roots began to grow deep, even before I moved here.

In 2018, I accepted an offer as sales manager for Aetna Medicare to open and manage Aetna’s Oregon and southwest Washington markets. This provided an opportunity for me to relocate to Clark County from Seattle. I continued to work for Aetna until November 2021.

I have worked in the insurance industry for over 21 years and in November 2021, I opened my own agency, Cascade Insurance Solutions. My specialty lies in health insurance focusing on Medicare and employee group insurance, as well as life insurance, long-term care, and other related coverage.

I enjoy various hobbies such as gardening, vermiculture, rehabbing furniture, painting (pictures, not walls), crafting, decorating, spending time with loved ones, and entertaining. My favorite season to decorate for is Christmas.

John and I became interested in conservative politics when he strongly opposed the Columbia River Crossing (I-5 bridge replacement project) in 2010. Our activism brought us closer to like-minded individuals, further drawing us in as those bonds of friendship developed. I was a 46th LD delegate to the 2016 Washington State Republican Convention while still residing in Seattle, and John was an 18th LD delegate. In 2017, I became a member of the Clark County Republican Women (CCRW) and was later asked to join the Board.

In the past 15 years, I have thoroughly enjoyed the personal and political growth I've experienced as a conservative Republican woman. Throughout this journey, I have been fortunate enough to gain a vast network of like-minded friends.

In 2022, I filed, ran for, and was elected Precinct Committee Officer (PCO) for Precinct 965. Recently, I was elected as the President of CCRW in February 2023, and I am thrilled to work alongside the talented and dedicated women on our Board. Serving our club's members and working with other organizations that share our values brings me great joy. I am excited to connect with more individuals in our community and add to the terrific circle of friends who touch my life.
