Linda Linder

Linda Linder has been a member of Clark County Republican Women (CCRW) since 2018 and joined the Executive Board as 2nd Vice President in August 2021. She and her husband, Larry, have been married since 1978. Both were born and raised in California before making the move to Washington in 2018.

Together, Linda and Larry built their forever home overlooking the Washougal River on 35 acres, which they lovingly named Liberty Ridge. Their son, Cameron, and his wife, Tracee—also CCRW members—live on the same property. Their “adopted” son, Jacob, and his wife, Amelia, live in northern Washington. Linda and Larry are the proud grandparents of four adorable grandchildren: Carson and Quinton Linder, and Isaiah and Phoebe Machengete.

A Career Dedicated to Education and Service

Linda retired in 2017 after 33 years as a public-school teacher in Central California, teaching primarily U.S. and World History at the high school and intermediate school levels. She also taught Academic Block subjects and AVID.

Beyond the classroom, Linda coached swimming, soccer, and volleyball and served for many years as a coach for Academic Decathlon, History Day, and Mock Trial. She regularly took her students to national-level History Day and Mock Trial competitions.

In between her teaching career, Linda earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and worked in both Critical Care and Emergency Department settings. After returning to the classroom, she continued her academic journey, earning a Master’s degree in History.

A Passion for History

Linda’s love of history extends well beyond the classroom. She and Larry are currently completing their private “barn museum” at Liberty Ridge, a remarkable collection of themed rooms filled with period antiques and memorabilia.

The museum includes a 1950s barber shop, 1930s soda fountain, military pavilion, 1930s movie theater, late-1800s post office and bank, and a 1930s gas station/petroliana, along with numerous buggies, carriages, and automobiles dating from the late 1800s through the 1980s.

Linda and Larry also manage the MG Ronald H. Markarian Charitable Foundation, a charitable military foundation dedicated to helping veterans and veteran organizations in need of funding.

Life, Family and Faith

For the past four years, Linda and Larry have traveled extensively throughout the United States, conducting more than 350 loss-control inspections of bowling and pickleball centers for their son’s insurance business.

Linda also co-teaches a ladies’ Bible study twice a month, teaches a weekly Bible study with her grandsons, and is very active in their small, non-denominational church. Serving the Lord is one of her greatest privileges, and her conservative outlook on life is patterned after her faith in God and the Bible.

When she isn’t working or serving her community, Linda enjoys hiking, traveling to new destinations, creating memories with her grandchildren, making up and recording her beloved “Gamma Stories,” playing all kinds of card and board games, and simply spending time with Larry. She has also recently become a Seahawks fan and enjoys participating in fantasy football with her family.

Linda’s lifelong love of history and current events has naturally extended into writing. She particularly enjoys reading and writing about history and politics. You can find her articles in the CCRW Newsletter, where she proudly serves as Editor.
